Student Loans at LBCC

Did you know that if you have been awarded a Direct Loan and received your first check already, you will be required to complete an exit counseling session before receiving your second check? Did you know that you can meet that requirement online using your U.S. Department of Education PIN? MoneyIf you are unable to complete it online or if you prefer to attend an exit meeting in person, there will be meetings at LAC and PCC in December.  If you complete the requirement by December 19 your loan will be disbursed with the first loan disbursements for spring which will be made during the week of January 14, 2008. If you attend either of those you will also receive an early check. Exit meetings at both campuses will continue in January and throughout the semester. If you are taking classes for the first time at LBCC in the spring and receiving a Direct Loan or have applied for one, your funds can’t be ordered until 30 days after the start of the term by federal law. They will be disbursed to you about a week later. If you are receiving a Perkins Loan, you also must complete exit requirements. That requirement must be met by attending a meeting which will be held in February. You will be mailed a letter that will include the time and place. If you are not currently receiving a Direct Loan but are considering applying for one, you can find information about them at the LBCC Financial Aid website . You will also find forms and links that will allow you to complete most of the process online. In person entrance meetings will resume after Walk - In Registration for spring.
