| New Veterans and Eligible Dependents |
| Sign up to receive the G.I. Bill by bringing your DD-214 (discharge papers) into Veteran Affairs in the Financial Aid Office at PCC. Come in early because it takes the Veterans Administration 6 to 8 weeks to initiate benefits. |
| Continuing Veterans and Eligible Dependents |
| You must sign up for the G.I. Bill each semester or summer term. You can fill out the application up to 2 months before school begins. |
| Transferring from Another School |
| If you are transferring to Long Beach City College after receiving the G.I. Bill at another college, be sure to come to Veterans Affairs in the Financial Aid Office at PCC. We can help you with the necessary paperwork as much as 4 months before the start of the semester. |
| Dropping classes. |
| If you have to drop a class or classes while receiving the G.I. Bill, the Veterans Administration can charge you for the money received unless you have a valid reason for the withdrawal. If you have to drop a class, be sure and come to Veterans Affairs in the Financial Aid Office at PCC and fill out the necessary paperwork. |
